About our investment areas
We are working across all levels of government and the private sector to catalyse the investment needed to develop sustainable sources of long-term prosperity and to support Australia's regional communities through our transition to net zero and the changing economy.
Public, private and foreign investment is needed to drive industrial decarbonisation, establish new industries and create new jobs.
Australia has abundant renewable energy and mineral resources, a skilled and resilient workforce, engineering and technical capability, with large pools of capital. Australia is well known as a reliable trading partner that provides a stable investment environment. Our nation is well positioned to seize the opportunities from achieving net zero, to build new industries and become a renewable energy superpower.
Our investment function
The Australian Government is implementing a comprehensive suite of policies to transform Australia into a competitive net zero economy. It also has a wide range of agencies and Specialist Investment Vehicles to drive investment in the net zero transformation.
We will convene cross-government consideration of net zero initiatives that may warrant government support. We will work with international partners, state and local governments, the private sector and other organisations to identify, broker, facilitate and catalyse transformational projects in regions.
