How we are supporting impacted workers
The transformation to net zero will involve economic change. If well managed this will minimise the disruptions and generate new opportunities for regions to create good jobs, strong local economies and thriving communities.
We will ensure workers in emissions-intensive industries are supported during the transition to take advantage of new opportunities within their regional economy.
We understand the transition will have broader flow-on effects beyond direct workers and we are committed to supporting these communities by offering appropriate support services.
Net Zero Jobs Plan
The Net Zero Jobs Plan will set the Government’s vision for a smooth workforce transition as Australia moves to a net zero economy. This will help workers in affected regions, their families and communities to navigate the changes in their local area and to take up new work and opportunities.
